Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) leads New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) 49% to 43% in the latest Rasmussen Reports Election 2008 poll. Those results are similar to the 47% to 43% edge Giuliani enjoyed over Clinton a month ago.

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (D) has announced that he is joining the list of candidates seeking the White House in 2008. Richardson is viewed favorably by 35% of Americans and unfavorably by 27%. A plurality, 38%, don’t know enough to have an opinion.

Hillary Meter

Forty percent (40%) of Americans say they would definitely vote against Senator Hillary Clinton if she is on the Presidential ballot in 2008. This is up three points from 37% in our last Hillary Meter survey, and the highest this measure has been since early August. Thirty-one percent (31%) said they would definitely vote for her, down slightly from two weeks ago (see trends). In every edition of the Hillary Meter, a plurality of Americans have said they would definitely vote against her.
