Alabama Governor
Riley (R) 47% Baxley (D) 40%
The latest Rasmussen Reports election poll in Alabama finds Governor Bob Riley (R) leading Lt. Governor Lucy Baxley (D) by seven percentage points, 47% to 40%. He leads former Governor Don Siegelman (D) by 17. A month ago, the Governor held slightly larger leads against each Democrat. Siegelman is struggling in both fundraising and the polls. He is under indictment on federal racketeering charges with a trial scheduled for May 1. The Democrat Primary is just over a month later on June 6.
