National Survey of
1,000 Adults
Conducted March 9-10,
2014
By Rasmussen Reports
1* How closely have
you followed recent news reports about a teenager who sued her parents for
financial support?
2* An 18-year-old
teenager who says her parents forced her to leave home has sued those parents
for financial support and college tuition. Should parents be required by law to
provide financial support for their children after they reach the age of 18?
3* Should parents be
allowed to impose reasonable standards of behavior on children under 18 who are
living with them?
4* Should parents be
allowed to punish in a reasonable fashion their children under 18 who fail to
abide by these standards of behavior?
5* Who is
chiefly responsible for the behavior of a child under 18 – the child him- or
herself, his or her parents, school authorities, judges, or the government?
6* How important is it for children to grow up in a home
with both of their parents – very important, somewhat important, not very
important, not at all important?
7* Do children who grow up in a home with both of their
parents have an advantage over children who grew up in a single-parent home?
8* Did
you grow up in a home with both of your parents?
