closely have you followed news reports about federal welfare programs?

What is the bigger problem with welfare programs in the United States—that too
many people get welfare who should not be getting it or that too many people
who should receive welfare do not?
3* Do
current government programs increase the level of poverty in America or
decrease the level of poverty in America? Or do they have no impact on the level
of poverty?
4* Does
the government spend too much or too little on poverty programs, or is the
level of spending about right?
5* Federal
law now requires most welfare recipients to work or prepare for work as a
condition for receiving welfare aid. Do you favor or oppose a work requirement
for welfare recipients?
6* Do
you personally know anyone who is receiving welfare benefits today?
7* Do
you personally know anybody who is receiving welfare payments who could be
working instead?
8* In
recent years, there has been a large increase in the number of people receiving
food stamps. Is that primarily because of tough economic times or primarily
because government rules have made it easier to get food stamps?
9* Are
food stamps too hard to get in this country, too easy to get or is the level of
eligibility about right?
